First Visit

What To Expect

We’re thrilled to welcome you to our practice! When you arrive at Taylor Orthodontics, please let our receptionist know. Dr. Andrew Taylor will conduct a comprehensive orthodontic examination, including x-rays and/or a digital scan, and discuss treatment details directly with you and your family.  There is no fee for the initial exam.

The Purpose of the Initial Examination is to Answer these Questions:

  • What sort of problem is present, if any?
  • When is the proper time to begin treatment?
  • What type of treatment is indicated?
  • How long will treatment take?
  • How much will the treatment cost?

What’s Next?

If orthodontic treatment is needed at the time of the initial exam, then patients can decide which treatment is right for them. Those choosing Invisalign treatment will have their teeth scanned and will return in 2-3 weeks to receive their Invisalign aligners and begin straightening their teeth! Patients choosing treatment with braces will be scheduled within a few weeks to have the braces put on!

What is the Cost of the Treatment?

The cost of treatment depends upon the severity of the patient’s problem. If treatment is indicated, then the treatment coordinator will discuss fees and payment options during the initial exam.

What Does My Investment Include?

Your investment includes:

  • Orthodontic records consist of x-rays, digital scans, and photos necessary for your treatment.
  • Active treatment fee for treatment with Invisalign or braces, including all appliances, office visits, and procedures performed in the office. Appliances are durable and should last through the entire treatment period if the patient follows instructions. If appliances require replacement due to loss, breakage, misuse, or failure to eliminate foods that cause damage, we reserve the right to charge an additional replacement fee.
  • Each patient receives one set of retainers. A replacement fee applies for each additional retainer that is lost or broken.

What Doesn’t My Investment Include?

  • Work performed at other dental offices outside our orthodontic practice.
  • If an accident or injury occurs during treatment that results in TMJ (Temporo-Mandibular-Joint, or your jaw) complications, additional orthodontics, orthognathic surgery, etc, a fee adjustment may be required to complete treatment under these unusual circumstances.

Assignment of Benefits

We accept the assignment of benefits for most insurance plans. By doing this, the family’s out-of-pocket expense is substantially lower. If we do not accept the assignment of benefits from your plan, we will be happy to file claims so that the insured can be reimbursed directly. Should there be any change in your policy before full payment of the insurance benefit, be sure to get in touch with our office immediately so adjustments may be made to your contract.

Office Hours

Our goal is to see you on time for your appointment. Time is scheduled to complete the necessary procedure, give information about the treatment, and answer any questions you may have. In order for us to maintain a schedule that runs in a timely manner, we ask that patients arrive on time to avoid delays. Your cooperation and consideration with appointments are greatly appreciated by our office and the patients who are seen after your appointment.
